Gladman Developments is planning to build up to 250 homes in Highworth, Swindon.
The developer has submitted a screening opinion request to Swindon Borough Council over the need for an environmental impact assessment for its plans for 11.38 hectares of what is currently arable farming land off Shrivenham Road.
The scheme will have an affordable homes proportion of 30 per cent.
The site is next to another where 53 homes are under construction and is close to the existing Highworth settlement.
