Green Park owner Mapletree has refused to comment on a report that Amazon has taken 50,000 sq ft of offices in Brook Drive.

CoStar News has said the online retail giant has taken office space vacated by tech firm Veritas, which recently moved down the M4 to Arlington Business Park in Theale. Thames Tap understands Amazon is paying £38 per sq ft.

Amazon, which last year took McKay Securities’ 135 Theale Logistics Park warehouse, also declined to comment.

But a Veritas spokesperson told Thames Tap: “Veritas recently moved to new state-of-the-art office space at Arlington Business Park, close to its previous location at Green Park.

“The new facilities provide Veritas with a modern, flexible working environment that better meets the current and future needs of our team.  We’re not able to comment on how the owners of Green Park are repurposing the space since Veritas vacated it.”

In another sizeable  Thames Valley deal, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has taken a 57, 387 sq ft pre-let at Windsor One, part of a scheme by Canmoor which involves refurbishing and extending the former Windsor Dials development. IHG is understood to be paying rent of more than £40 per sq ft.

The remainder of the scheme, Windsor Two, will have 31,293 sq ft.
