Hounslow Council has appointed Higgins Partnerships to regenerate the Charlton House and Albany House estate in Brentford, delivering 182 new council homes.
The scheme will replace 92 ageing homes with energy-efficient properties for social rent, with about 30 per cent designed as larger family homes to better meet local housing needs.
Hounslow Council says the scheme is part of its wider ambition to provide good-quality, safe, secure and affordable homes, while supporting regeneration and economic development.
Councillor Tom Bruce said the project will help deliver homes suited to residents’ needs, improve green space and provide opportunities for local enterprise. Higgins Group chief executive Declan Higgins said the development will make a lasting difference through low-carbon homes and wider social value initiatives.
Higgins Partnerships will also work with local organisations and community groups to provide work experience, business advice, volunteering and support for projects tackling homelessness, crime and wellbeing.
Construction is expected to start in autumn, and the scheme contributes to the council’s broader programme to deliver 1,000 new council homes across the borough.
