House by Urban Splash has started offering customers a fully immersive, 360-degree CGI experience to replace conventional in-person viewings during lockdown.

The experience has adapted the latest gaming and cloud technology in order to allow potential residents the opportunity to view properties they are interested in from the comfort and safety of their own home. The 360-degree CGI experience is available for ‘Town House’ which has configurable interiors, meaning buyers can take the tour and design their own interior layout and finish before the homes being built in the factory and arriving on-site at Northstowe.

Potential buyers are given access to a video of the property and are talked through the experience by an agent. They are given the chance to ask questions about the property throughout the process, making it as interactive as possible. The tour allows the customer to walk through each room and sample the material quality, daylight quality, space flow, ceiling height, and also take in views from windows and balconies.

The virtual viewings were rolled out in early 2020 and have allowed customers to view houses that are still being constructed in a factory rather than waiting for the manufacturing process to finish and then viewing the property.

The company has since been able to harness the latest technology to evolve the service and create this immersive virtual viewing experience of new homes, now also available in Cambridgeshire.

Evangelina Hogan, Sales Manager for House by Urban Splash in Cambridgeshire, commented: “This is important even more now than ever so that customers that want to move or need to move can continue with their plans to do so, and the housing market can also keep moving.”

“These latest additions enable us to demonstrate our homes without having to be on a construction site, something we are used to, but that is also necessary at the moment.”
