B&M has taken a 16,000 sq ft unit in the centre of High Wycombe.

Devonshire Investment Holdings has let the retail and storage space over the ground and first floors at Red Lion House, 9-10 High Street to the fast-expanding retailer on a five-year lease.

Chris Naylor, portfolio asset manager for Devonshire Holdings, said: “We are very pleased to have completed this letting to such a successful retailer in a very challenging retail market.

“We are certain that B&M Stores will prove a real footfall driver to the High Street and to High Wycombe town centre as a whole. By the time the store opens in late March we are hopeful that Government restrictions will have eased and that a degree of normality will have returned to the town centre.”

Other tenants at Red Lion House include Iceland and The Gym Group. The building is famed as the site where election speeches were made by both Benjamin Disraeli and Sir Winston Churchill when it was the Red Lion Hotel.

Burns Property Consultants acted for B&M Retail Limited.
