In 2021, Ealing Council’s Planning Committee approved plans for Bollo Place, including 237 homes,35 per cent affordable housing, new workspaces and public spaces.
Since then, there have been significant changes in the private housing market, partly due to issues around the West London energy grid, rising construction costs, and rising mortgage interest rates. The demand for dedicated student housing remained strong and continues to outstrip supply yearly, especially across West London.
The changes seek to ensure the scheme better responds to current market demand by reconfiguring the proposed private homes into approximately 430 student beds and increasing the number of affordable family homes to around 95. These changes would only see minor alterations to the external appearance of the buildings.
The Ealing Planning Committee approved on 19 October 2023.
