Karen Jones, partner and head of planning & environmental at Blandy & Blandy, will join judges for an awards scheme hosted by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

She will be assessing the entries for this year’s South East Awards for Planning Excellence which recognises professionals and projects across the industry.

Ms Jones has been a legal associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute (LARTPI) since 2007 and holds both an LLB (Hons) Law and LLM Environmental Law from University College London. She previously taught at the College of Law and has lectured at the University of Reading’s renowned School of Real Estate & Planning, part of Henley Business School.

She said: “I am proud of my LARTPI status which brings an extra dimension to my legal input on projects. I welcome this opportunity to be involved in the Awards and to have the chance to give back to the RTPI by participating as a member of their panel.”

The categories include Best Plan, Best Project, Planning Authority of the Year, Small Planning Consultancy of the Year and Young Planner of the Year.

The event will be held in June, with the winners then entered into the RTPI’s national awards.
