The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames planning committee has approved a mixed-use development on the site of a former service station on Coombe Road Kingston.

The proposal is for the erection of part four, part five and part six-storey building comprising 29 residential flats, including three wheelchair-accessible units, with flexible commercial use at ground floor level, landscaping, amenities paces and cycle parking.

The site is used as a car wash and skip hire centre. In 2016, planning permission was granted for a double-height primary school and sports hall.

Concerns were expressed that the previous proposal had not been delivered and that the same would happen again. Despite the concerns, the proposal was given unanimous support.

Clive Chapman is the architect.
