A new hotel is to be built in Chiswick High Road.

Hounslow Council’s planning committee approved plans, put forward by Nexus Planning on behalf of Forest Hill Properties, for a six storey, 113 room hotel at its November 11 meeting.

The site is at no 632, next to a car showroom. The applicant expects the completed building to be operated by Travelodge, its third in the area.

Councillors expressed concern over the number of hotels in the area , including the proposed Brentford Community Stadium hotel.  Another concern was the lack of parking at the new scheme but it was accepted that visitors would plan accordingly.

Nexus Planning provided an assessment of hotel use to aid the councillors’ decision making. Nexus reported that the area surrounding the application site is home to some of the largest commercial businesses including several renowned national and international firms’ head offices, as well as a huge number of small and medium enterprises.

Despite this level of established businesses and enterprises, the area has very little visitor accommodation, and particularly lacks budget branded hotels.

Architect on the scheme is Falconer Chester Hall.
