Dignitaries gathered on Monday (February 10) to launch the £20 million Village Hotel Club at Basing View.

The 153-room hotel, which includes the VWorks co-working concept, a Starbucks, a gym  with swimming pool, sauna and steam room, and Pub & Grill restaurant, had its official launch with Cllr Diane Taylor, mayor of Basingstoke and Dean, her consort, Dr Andy Taylor and Enterprise M3 director Linda Cheung who joined general manager Nalin Daud.

Mr Daud, said: “With our location, we’re ideally placed to support small enterprises and business owners, enabling them to network, connect with mentors and make the most of our flexible working environment, helping provide opportunities for all in the town.”

Cllr John Izett, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, cabinet member for regeneration and property, said: “The opening of Village Hotel is great news for Basingstoke and responds to what the growing number of businesses based at Basing View have been calling for – a modern business-class hotel with excellent additional amenities.

“I am delighted that Village Hotels has chosen to invest £20m in the borough and in the process provide 110 new permanent jobs.

“The new hotel will be a fantastic addition to the success story at Basing View. The opening of the new hotel is another important step in our £500m regeneration of Basing View in association with Enterprise M3.”
