A year after launch, and with over 60 corporate members, the rapidly expanding Oxfordshire Developers Forum is holding its first UKREiiF panel debate.

Panel details

Chaired by Charles Butters, Oxfordshire Developers Forum Lead and Strategic Property Advisor to Oxfordshire County Council, the expert panel, which will discuss the importance of long-term investment and patient capital includes:

  • Neale Coleman, Chair of the Oxford Growth Commission
  • Anna Strongman, CEO of Oxford University Development (JV between the University of Oxford and L&G)
  • Matt Abney, Senior Director of Real Estate, Ellison Institute of Technology

The panel discussion will also explore two of the Forum’s key themes – understanding good growth and the importance of quality placemaking in a high growth environment.

The panellists will outline the approach being taken by their own organisations and answer questions on how those lessons can be applied more widely.

Neale Coleman said:

“Oxfordshire starts with amazing resources in the world-leading quality of its universities, the talents of its people and its innovative businesses, but faces a challenge in the delivering good growth for its future.

“By working with government, business and community partners we can use Oxford’s world leading position as a base to create growth which balances jobs, housing, inclusive growth and nature.”

Anna Strongman said:

“Oxford is an internationally renowned centre for innovation. To continue to attract the best talent, the city needs an ongoing focus on delivering long-term, high-quality infrastructure alongside supporting the vibrant innovation eco system.”

“Our JV is uniquely placed to consider and lead long-term growth across the County, starting with our planned campus at Begbroke. I’m looking forward to discussing our approach at the Forum’s panel at UKREiiF.”

The Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) said:

“EIT is focused on translating scientific discovery into real world impact. We deliver scaled solutions to humanity’s important problems. Backed by rigorous science and expansive AI capabilities, we plan to push the boundaries of what’s possible.

“We’re locating in Oxford to build a model where science, technology, education and commercialisation reinforce each other. Collaborative discussions through this Forum will help us to understand our collective challenges and to explore new perspectives and solutions together”.

Charles Butters said:

“Oxfordshire Developers Forum has become a crucial place where we can host discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing our county and how they can be solved.

“This debate, with some of the key figures in our region, will highlight the importance of patient, thoughtful investment in good placemaking, how it has shaped Oxford and Oxfordshire in the past, and how it is helping to create the great places of the future.”#
