HBD has sold a 5,614 sq ft unit at Airport Business Park Southend (ABPS) to The Trustees of Hammersley Pension Scheme in a £1.15 million deal.
The pension scheme has taken Unit 5, a 12-unit scheme within The Quad at the 25-hectare ABPS development, currently occupied by The Event Co.
ABPS, a joint venture between HBD and Southend City Council, has quickly become one of the city’s most successful business destinations. Occupiers include IPECO and CAMA AssetStore.
Ed Hutchinson, managing director of HBD, said: “HBD developed The Quad for SMEs, providing modern Grade A space within an established business location and alongside facilities including the Launchpad to encourage innovation, collaboration and idea-sharing.
“The Quad has proven a very successful scheme and it’s positive to see start-ups and SMEs continuing to thrive at Airport Business Park Southend, creating new jobs and opportunities.”
HBD has now completed a total of 355,550 sq ft at ABPS. A further 290,000 sq ft of space is to be brought forward, 77,108 sq ft of which has planning consent. Unit 5 was the final remaining building within the Quad.
