Land Promoter, Richborough Estates, has submitted a planning application for high-quality residential development in Cranfield, Bedfordshire.

Accessed from Eight Acres, it will comprise up to 180 homes in a choice of house types, including semi-detached, detached and bungalows. Up to 54 of the homes will be affordable.

To promote healthy lifestyles and access to nature, the 27-acre scheme has been designed with a landscape focus. There will be a range of generously-sized green open spaces with a children’s play area, as well as paths for walkers and cyclists connecting the development to the surrounding countryside. The Public Right of Way running through the site will be improved.

The site has an excellent location within walking distance from the shops and services of Cranfield Village as well as two schools. The prestigious Cranfield University and Cranfield Airport are close by.

Public transport brings Milton Keynes and Bedford within easy reach, and a train from Milton Keynes to London takes just 30 minutes.

Marc Wilson, Regional Director at Richborough Estates, said: “With its convenient location, landscape-led design and rural setting, this will make a great place to live for people at all stages of life.

“Our expert team has carefully designed the scheme to enhance the character of Cranfield while ensuring it will leave a lasting legacy.  It will also help deliver much needed new homes for the area.

“We’re delighted to have submitted our planning application following extensive consultation with stakeholders and the local community.”

The team includes RPS, Hub transport planning, Tyler Grange, BWB Consulting, M-EC Consulting Development Engineers and edge urban Design.
