The plans show a mixture of both market and affordable new homes in a range of types and sizes are proposed, along with a central green, public open space and a children’s play area.

The 12.1-acre greenfield plot is located off Princess Avenue, towards the south of March, and is within comfortable walking distance of schools, shops and facilities.

It is one of the sites allocated in the Fenland local plan for a large residential-led extension of March.

Alex Anderson, regional director at Richborough Estates, said: “After consulting with the community, we are pleased to submit this planning application for a sustainable and high-quality place which blends and connects with the existing March community.

“The development will not only meet local housing needs but provide a great place to live, with views of the historic St Wendreda’s Church.

“I’d like to thank all those involved for their hard work in getting the application submitted within a tight deadline.”
