Barker Storey Matthews has submitted plans for a new headquarters, office, production and distribution facility in Peterborough on behalf of Supermax Healthcare UK.

Supermax Healthcare UK is the European subsidiary of Supermax Corporation Berhad, the world’s 2nd largest manufacturer of disposable examination gloves.

The plans, submitted on 8th December 2020, seek to redevelop the 1.14-hectare vacant industrial site at the Land North of Pump House Pit on Kingston Road. Specifically, the application pertains to Plots 2, 3 and 4. It seeks to develop 14,058 sq ft of office space and 43’669 sq ft of industrial space on the site, totalling 57,727 sq ft of new floorspace.

The submission also includes plans for 40 additional parking spaces.

Peterborough Cycle Forum has submitted a request for a direct cycle path to be implemented between the existing cycle path and Flaxley Road on the North East of the site. They claim that not including this in the plans will require commuters to undertake a 1-kilometre detour to reach the site that is 80 metres from the current cycle path. They have requested that no further developments take place on the site until this change is accepted.
