A ‘plug & play’ office space has been set up at AshbyCapital and U+I’s The Future Works (TFW) building in Slough.

The 6,900 sq ft space, The Future Works Instant, on the second floor of the 100,000 sq ft development, includes both client-facing and internal meeting rooms, breakout areas, dedicated phone booths and a café-style tea point.

Occupiers will also be able to use the existing amenities in the building including a 3,100 sq ft communal roof terrace, Wi-Fi, all day-café, basement parking and extensive cycling facilities.

The building also has a Smart Spaces app that promotes sustainability and wellness.

Tom Smithers, property director at AshbyCapital, said: “We’re excited to launch The Future Works Instant, bridging the gap between traditional office space and flexible workspace.

“The pandemic has accelerated underlying trends towards flexibility and caused occupiers to reassess their property needs.

“This plug & play space offers a turnkey solution for businesses wanting space that meets the demands of a modern workforce.

“The fully kitted-out office offers a workspace that suits everyone, with innovative floor and desk plans that can grow with your company, and allows employees to benefit from the first-rate amenities at The Future Works that promote wellness and collaboration.”

Mike Hood, managing director at U+I, said: “With Slough regularly topping Glassdoor’s list of the best places for employee satisfaction, jobs and cost of living, The Future Works Instant fills a gap in the market for ready-to-go workspace in this exceptional business destination, making it easy for new companies to join the highest concentration of global headquarters outside London.”

The Future Works is the first phase of a £200 million investment in Slough. Two further buildings were consented this year. It currently has 74,000 sq ft available.
