Shanly Homes is seeking to demolish a retirement home in Hook to build 46 properties.

Under the plans submitted to Hart District Council, Geffery’s House, a 1970s-built scheme of 55 retirement flats, will make way for the development of houses and flats on the 1.87-hectare site which is to the north of Hook village.

The new homes include four two-bedroom properties, 38 with three bedrooms and 12 with four. The scheme includes a 40 per cent allocation of affordable homes.

Sir Robert Geffery’s Trust has arranged for residents in the current building to move to newly refurbished Geffery’s Fields in Basingstoke. The Geffery’s House in hook has become costly to run and uneconomical to modernise.

The team on the project includes Boyer on planning. ECE Architects, Bellamy Roberts as highways consultant and Greenspace as arboriculturist.
