Six months after opening, Reading’s Ebb & Flow scheme at Station Hill has reached top spot in a review website.

And, along with a host of private events and classes, a new bar may be opening to the public at the 600-home scheme.

HomeView, which publishes the reviews by residents of housing developments, has rated Ebb & Flow, operated by Native Residential, in top place in its Best Places to Live in Reading page.

Ebb, which opened six months ago, is currently around half full with more flats due to be released soon. The homes in 174-unit Flow are due to go on the market this month.

Events in the scheme have already begun, including a Neighbourhood Heroes event in August, speed coaching and networking in November and a Christmas market in December. Regular fitness and wellness classes have been held since it opened.

A future event at the Station Hill scheme is the opening of the link bridge over Garrard Street which is planned for later this year.

Tony Bullen, Ebb & Flow’s community manager, said: “Here at Ebb & Flow, we are proud to be a key part of Reading, and contributing to the town’s ongoing development is an exciting ongoing project.

“Over the past six months, we have received brilliant feedback from residents and non-residents alike. Achieving first place in HomeView’s best places to live is an extraordinary win for us. Still being so new to the area, we are glad our prior research into the community has paid off, and we are able to offer clubs, workshops, and fitness classes that our residents attend regularly.”

In a addition to the private services and events, a late night bar has applied for a licence to open to the public at 1 Friars Walk in the scheme.

Siren City Bars is seeking a licence from Reading Borough Council to open from 10am until 11pm Monday to Thursday and until 12am from Friday to Sunday.
