The first shared ownership apartments at the Randalls development in Uxbridge have been announced.

Inland Homes’ Rosewood Housing division has taken the wraps off the apartments with an opportunity to view them soon.

Inland Homes states:

Rosewood Housing, a subsidiary of Inland Homes, is thrilled to announce the launch of the very first Shared Ownership apartments at the iconic Randalls department store. Conveniently located in the commuter town of Uxbridge, the collection of 1 & 2 bedroom homes at Eves House will be available to view on the 12th & 14th August with exclusive open days for prospective buyers.

And, with just nine Shared Ownership apartments available at the historic site, prospective purchasers should act fast to snap up an affordable home at this uniquely designed development.

Focused on meeting the needs of buyers, Rosewood Housing places its emphasis on quality. The apartments are constructed to the same high standards as those destined for private sale by parent company, Inland Homes. The apartments in Eves House therefore meet the same specification as the private sale homes at the Randalls development, and some have the added benefit of gated parking.

Sally Ingham, board director at Rosewood Housing, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming prospective buyers to our exclusive open days at Randalls where we are showcasing our new collection of Shared Ownership apartments.

“It is rare for developments with this much historic and cultural significance to incorporate affordable homes, so Shared Ownership at Randalls is a truly unmissable opportunity for those looking to get onto the property ladder with a lower-level deposit. With only nine properties available, we predict these apartments will be incredibly popular and urge buyers to register their interest as soon as possible.”

Rosewood’s Shared Ownership scheme offers prospective buyers a more affordable way to get onto the property ladder. The homes at Eves House allow purchasers to buy a 40 per cent  share of the property, while paying a subsidised rent on the remaining value.

After registering their interest in one of the available homes, buyers’ eligibility will be assessed and they will be invited to discuss their options with the sales team.

After moving in, buyers can then choose to increase their share up to 100 per cent and full ownership at a later date – known as staircasing – as and when they can afford to do so.

Eves House is located on the site of the former family-owned Randalls department store, that served the Uxbridge community for 123 years before its closure in 2015.

Having survived both World Wars and the Great Depression, the Grade II listed building remains a key feature of the development. Alongside its retail success, the store also featured in a variety of films and television shows, including Victim (1961), Only Fools and Horses (1983) and Endeavour (2014).

Eves House comprises a stylish collection of nine one and two-bedroom apartments. All apartments feature contemporary open-plan kitchen/living areas. Kitchens are complete with slimline quartz worktops and a range of high-quality integrated appliances. Modern bathrooms enjoy stylish Porcelanosa tiling and panelled thermostatic baths with a full-height shower over the bath.

Selected apartments also feature home offices and balconies, providing even more space to enjoy. All apartments also feature the luxury of underfloor heating as standard.

Randalls is well situated to take full advantage of Uxbridge’s retail and leisure facilities. The town features two shopping centres, The Chimes and Pavilions, which each host a wide range of popular high-street brands including H&M, River Island and The Body Shop.

Alternatively, just a four-minute walk from Randalls, Windsor Street features an array of independent retailers for those hoping for something a bit different. Uxbridge also hosts a multi-screen Odeon cinema with an IMAX-screen. Dining opportunities are also plentiful in the area, with a selection of popular favourites including Nando’s and Wagamama.

Uxbridge is filled with tranquil green and blue spaces, providing a calming contrast to the vibrant town centre. Fassnidge Park is just a short eight-minute walk from Randalls and hosts a café, as well as tennis courts and a bowling green. Residents can also capture scenic views of the River Colne and Fray’s River, as well as enjoying peaceful strolls along the Grand Union Canal.

Randalls is well situated for commuters. Located just a five-minute walk from Uxbridge Underground Station, residents have access to a range of London destinations via the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines, including Wembley Park in 25 minutes, Kings Cross station in 48 minutes and Leicester Square in an hour.

Nearby West Drayton station provides regular services to destinations such as London Paddington and Reading, with journey times expected to be cut dramatically after the introduction of Crossrail from 2022.

Road connections are also exceptional. With the M25, M4 and M40 all close by, residents have easy access to London, Birmingham and Wales. For international travel, Heathrow Airport is just a 15-minute drive away.

Prices for the Shared Ownership apartments at Randalls start from £132,000 for a 40 per cent share (full price is £330,000).
