Ballymore, the Brentford Project developer has submitted detailed plans to the London Borough of Hounslow for the area of the scheme referred to as Plot A.
The first of two submissions seeks planning permission and listed building consent for change of use to convert the disused St Lawrence’s Church into a range of business (retail, food and beverage and commercial), community and leisure use.
There is also work to restore the church and put up a new building for leisure use including a gym and a pool. The changes will aim to bring the disused church back into service.
The second submission is for a residential building on Plot A, providing 18 two-bedroom homes and associated landscaping.
A mixed-use development of retail, commercial, leisure and residential uses (including 876 homes) was approved in 2015 and is now under construction.
A request was made to adjust conditions relating to archaeological investigation and protection at the site which includes the burial ground.
Further details and consents relating to the treatment of burials and memorials at the site are required before work can commence. The process is controlled by a licence from the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
Plot A will secure a new large area of public open space for recreation and play, protect existing trees and increase biodiversity.
