​A community engagement event, held by Ealing Council and the developer Ecoworld, provided an opportunity to ask any questions about the latest proposals for the Gurnell Leisure Centre, Perivale. 

The consultation showcased a brand new, state-of-the-art leisure facilities, including a 10 lane 50m pool, a new leisure pool, a gym, soft play facilities, a sauna, a steam room and a café. The plan will also deliver almost 600 desperately needed homes, many of which will help the council towards its target of creating 2,500 genuinely affordable new homes by April 2022  and received over 1600 comments.

The planning submission is for: Demolition of all existing buildings and erection of replacement leisure centre (Use Class D2), facilitating affordable and market housing residential development (Use Class C3) in 6 blocks, flexible retail floorspace (Use Classes A1 – A3), plant room and energy centre, leisure centre coach parking, basement residential and leisure centre cycle and car parking, refuse/recycling storage, new servicing, vehicular and pedestrian accesses and associated highway works, new and replacement play space, public realm and public open space, landscaping and associated groundworks to existing public open space.
