Wandsworth Council is launching a new online system for planning, building control and local land charges services as part of wider service improvements.
To allow the transition, several online services will be unavailable between Friday 11 and Friday 25 September while information is securely transferred.
During this period, planning applications will not be registered or determined, and application searches and views will only be available for cases dated before 11 September. Online commenting on planning applications will also pause, and building control services will be unavailable or operate with limited functionality. Local land charges services will also be temporarily unavailable.
Residents who want to comment on planning applications can still do so by emailing planning@wandsworth.gov.uk instead of using the online system. Where needed, deadlines will be extended. All comments submitted by email will be logged, reviewed by the case officer and considered in the decision-making process as usual.
The council says the new system will offer a more modern, user-friendly and resilient service for residents, applicants and professional users.
The London Borough of Richmond has already introduced it successfully, which the council sees as a positive sign for the upgrade.
