Wandsworth Council wants to make changes to Totterdown Street in Tooting, including part pedestrianisation and is asking local people what they think.

The changes are part of the work to make streets healthier and safer and improve them for local people and businesses. Changes would include pedestrianising the street from Tooting High Street to Blakenham Road, as well as more greenery, space for outdoor market stalls and a community space with tables and chairs.

Views will initially feed into a temporary design this summer to test ideas before a permanent solution is considered.

Jenny Yates, cabinet member for Transport, said: “We want to create streets that are safe for people to walk or cycle on, as well as building spaces that whole communities can enjoy. Please let us know what you think of our proposals for Totterdown Street so we can ensure that the views of local people are taken into account.”
