Ealing Council Planning Committee has approved a 16-storey mixed-use development at 99-103 The Broadway Ealing.

The proposal is to demolish existing buildings and erect a mixed-use development comprising flexible commercial floorspace on the ground and mezzanine floors and 144 new homes on the upper floors. It also includes associated landscaping and public realm works, including along St James’s Avenue, and other works incidental to the proposed development.

The scheme comprises two tall buildings, 14 and 16 storeys each, with a 9-storey linking block over St James’ Avenue.

While concerns have been expressed about the building’s height, the committee welcomed the proposals. The councillors reviewing the proposal said”, We need to develop West Ealing Broadway and see it through a different prism.”

The building will include 32 per-cent affordable housing and will be a another contribution to the goals for Ealing in the London Plan.
