Woking Leisure Centre has opened a new Reformer studio, bringing one of the UK’s fastest-growing workouts to local residents.
The facility launched on 11 May with 16 specialist Reformer beds and two weeks of free taster sessions. The opening was marked by a VIP launch attended by Woking Borough Council representatives, including Cllr Ellen Nicholson, Tim Fleming and Deputy Mayor Rob Leach, who tried a special session.
Managed by Everyone Active for the council, the centre has also benefited from a £1.2 million investment programme that includes a refurbished gym, refreshed exercise studios and a new cycling studio. The Reformer timetable begins with FitCore classes, an accessible introduction to full-body strengthening, and will later expand to include more advanced EA Ignite sessions.
The Reformer uses a machine with adjustable resistance and a moving platform, enabling workouts to suit different fitness levels. Its popularity has grown because it can improve core strength, flexibility and rehabilitation, with options ranging from gentle, low-impact movement to challenging full-body training.
Everyone Active says the new studio will offer an affordable, welcoming environment for people at all stages of fitness, while Councillor Nicholson said the upgrade is already improving access to modern ways to stay active and support wellbeing. Residents can book classes or find out more through Everyone Active or Woking Leisure Centre.
The launch forms part of wider improvements at the leisure centre, where a major investment has delivered upgraded spaces, modern equipment and a broader fitness offer aimed at supporting healthier, more active lifestyles.
