Plans for 500 homes have been revealed in a screening opinion request regarding land at Bicester Road, south east of Kidlington.

Barwood Developments and Hill Residential have, via Pegasus, jointly asked Cherwell District Council whether an environmental impact assessment (EIA) is required for their plans for the development on the 32.12-hectare site.

A similar screening request was submitted in April over plans for 375 homes on 27.75 hectares of the site, when the developer was told an EIA was needed.

However, that decision is challenged in the latest request.

The newest development proposes up to 500 homes, open space, sports facilities, an extension to Kidlington Cemetery and allotments. The land is currently two irregular shaped pastoral fields and two arable fields with hedgerows and trees along the boundaries.
