Bellway Thames Valley has launched 98 new homes in Shinfield in Berkshire, a site known as Long Acre.

Bellway says Long Acre will appeal to a wide range of potential buyers including families, first-time buyers, and commuters. It has two, three and four bedroom properties.

Three and four bedroom show homes will be available to view in July.

Emma Jones, sales director for Bellway Thames Valley said: “Interest in Long Acre is already high following the upturn in enquires that we have seen throughout the region following on from the pandemic.  I believe that our initial release of homes will be scooped up extremely quickly as family homes are highly sought after in the area and all available with Help to Buy.”

“We launched a similar scheme in nearby Calcot last year and we have a waiting list of buyers anticipating our next release of homes on the development – we literally can’t build homes quick enough for buyers in the current climate.”

Bellway’s promotional literature states:

This versatile collection of homes is set on the edge of Shinfield village and has excellent transport links into Reading town centre. The homes have been thoughtfully designed with today’s home worker in mind, offering generous spaces for a desk or study area and most importantly, ultrafast fibre broadband to each home.

The stylish kitchens at Long Acre come complete with a choice of gloss finish units, matching worktops and upstands. Executive master bedroom suites have been designed with enviable bathroom suites featuring Roca contemporary white sanitary ware, neutral ceramic wall and floor tiling and Bristan brassware.

Classic French doors spill out into the gardens which ensures every home has its own privacy and all properties have their own parking spaces.  Most Long Acre residents will benefit from a garage, with several of the two-bedroom homes having this added advantage. Additionally, Long Acre has beautiful landscaped communal areas and local footpaths lead into glorious Berkshire countryside.

Shinfield itself has plenty going for it with some excellent educational choices for families and a good range of local shops not to mention a choice of eateries.  Shinfield boasts one of the best-rated restaurants in Berkshire, L’Ortolan, set in a fabulous Grade II house with chef James Greatorex producing fine dining at home or in the restaurant, not to mention events, food experiences and a chauffeur to create a perfect night out.

Long Acre is situated between two primary schools that are both rated as good by Ofsted, Shinfield St. Mary’s C of E Junior School and Hillside Primary School are approximately a mile from the development. Students over 11 are served by several notable secondary schools, including Reading Girls School, Leighton Park School and Maiden Erlegh School which has an outstanding rating from Ofsted.  Older academics can enjoy a first-class education at Reading University which recently enjoyed its 90th year of excellence.

Shinfield is easily accessible to London with Reading Station under 20 minutes away, providing regular high-speed services to London Paddington in as little as 24 minutes. The M4 is a mile away and connects to all major surrounding road networks via junction 11. For those wishing to leave their car at home, buses depart from Shinfield village several times an hour and take around 30 minutes into the centre of Reading.
