The comprehensive project includes full planning permission for the demolition and redevelopment of ‘Phase 1’, a key advancement in the borough’s regeneration efforts. This ambitious scheme will introduce mixed-use buildings comprising 1,627 residential homes, alongside flexible commercial, retail, and leisure spaces, as well as dedicated workspace.
A centre piece of this development is the revitalisation of the College of North West London’s campuses. The Dudden Hill site in Willesden will undergo a transformation that not only delivers new homes but also enhances community facilities, including shops, a gym, office spaces, and a nursery. The project additionally aims to improve public green spaces on Dudden Hill Green and Selbie Avenue, bolstering local amenities.
Crucially, the project will also introduce provisions for an outdoor gym, defined intermediate housing, and a mechanism to potentially convert intermediate to social housing, ensuring flexibility according to future viability.
Stephen Davis, Group Principal and CEO of the United Colleges Group, expressed his enthusiasm: “I am delighted that we have reached another milestone in our new campus journey. With Brent Council’s latest decision, we are another step closer to delivering best in class facilities that will meet the skills needs for the area. Our new proposed site will deliver more education, training, and skills opportunities for our students and will provide the community with an important facility to work and learn.”
This development promises to significantly enhance educational and residential infrastructure, reflecting a forward-thinking approach to urban renewal.
