Cambridge South Station officially opened this Sunday, with the first train entering at 6:35am.
The £250 million project will cut commutes for those travelling from London down to 45 minutes, and is expected to provide wider improved connectivity for approximately 1.8 million passengers annually.
The station is aligned with Cambridge’s local sustainable transport strategy, and is connected to the local cycle network, providing 1,000 spaces for bicycles.
There are six lifts, accessible toilets, and pedestrian access either side from the CBC and Hobsons Park.
CrossCountry, Greater Anglia, Great Northern, and Thameslink will all run services calling at the new station, and there is capacity for future East West rail services.
