Plans for a care home on the site of the former Travis Perkins depot in Woodley have been submitted to Wokingham Borough Council.

Churchgate Services (under the name Propco Woodley Green) has applied to build a 70-unit care home on the 0.36-hectare site in Woodley Green, close to the Bull & Chequers pub. It will be operated by Boutique which currently has care homes in Shepperton, Newmarket and Broadstairs.

The plans show a three storey building which will have 24 car parking spaces and a garden along its eastern boundary.

Chess Engage, which had worked on an earlier proposal from Gillings Planning, on behalf of Perseus Land & Development, for a 55-unit care home on the site, was retained for the public consultation.

Planning was done by Mission, transport by Paul Basham Associates, heritage by Smith Jenkins and Lichfields provided the scheme’s employment and economic statement.
