B&Q have opened a new concept store next to Lidl in Fulwell on the 4th January 2021.

The store has a much lower footprint than a normal B&Q warehouse and has a specifically designed ‘click and collect’ counter at the front of the store. The range is much reduced and there is a paint mixing counter at the rear.

B&Q have been trying new concepts in the face of increasing online competition including a shop within shop at four Asda stores and a high street store in North London. A smaller similar style store was opened in Merton January 2020.

The new compact store offers customers all their home improvement essentials, with over 5,500 products in store, alongside 30,000 products on diy.com available for delivery or Click and Collect. For customers shopping in store for essentials, there are strict social distancing measures in place.

Ryan Glanville, Store Manager at B&Q Twickenham said: “In the coming weeks, we look forward to welcoming Twickenham residents into our new store. Customers will be able to shop from a great selection of DIY essential items, as well as receive expert help and advice from our colleagues.”
