Oxford’s newest budget hotel had its official opening last week.

The 180-room easyHotel is in Summertown, close to many restaurants and shops.

easyHotel’s UK country manager Nathan White opened the ceremony before the orange ribbon was cut by Frank Smith, head of commercial services at Experience Oxfordshire, who also delivered a speech to commemorate the event and welcome the business to the area.

Mr White said: “Experience shows us that when we open a new hotel, it has a positive effect on the local economy, and brings value to the community.

“We’re also an environmentally-conscious business and want to minimise the hotel’s impact on the local environment, so will be focused on sustainability objectives for the hotel such as carefully managing energy use.”

Mr Smith said: “The arrival of easyHotel’s largest property in Oxford makes a real statement that Oxford is firmly a top 10 destination for tourism in the UK.”
