Redford Developments and Hurlands Pickleball + Padel Club are adding three external padel courts to the UK’s largest indoor padel and pickleball centre in Farnham, Surrey.

The 56,000 sq ft facility, on Farnham Trading Estate, opened in January 2026 after a £2.75m fit-out and already includes nine pickleball courts, five padel courts, fitness studios, a restaurant, café, and event space.

Planning for the new uncovered courts was approved in phases by Waverley Borough Council during 2024 and 2025. To accommodate them, the car park will be reconfigured to the west of the building, accessed via Monkton Park, while retaining 140 parking spaces, more than enough for a 17-court health and fitness venue.

Redford chief executive Richard Mees said the firm is proud to help Hurlands expand the site, noting that the council shared its vision and recognised strong demand for fast-growing racquet sports. The new courts are due to open in August and will sit within the trading estate, away from homes, with nearby commercial buildings providing additional acoustic screening.

Hurland’s chairman and investor, Philip Newborough, said the club has already attracted more than 5,000 regular users and that over 1,000,000 adults and juniors now play padel across Great Britain. He said the extra investment will broaden the club’s appeal across Surrey and raise the court total to 17, while supporting plans to launch five padel and pickleball clubs across the South East within five years.

Waverley councillor Mark Merryweather welcomed the scheme as a boost to health and wellbeing, local businesses, and community activity. Redford Developments, backed by private investment, also targets non-income-producing commercial assets for refurbishment or redevelopment.
