Approval has been recommended for Bracknell Town FC’s latest plans for flats at the club’s former Larges Lane ground.

Bracknell Forest Council’s planning committee will decide at its May 19 meeting if the revised 117-unit plan has addressed concerns after the scheme for 126 was rejected by 11-1 with one abstention on March 24.

Those plans for the 1.16-hectare site, which had also been recommended for approval, were criticised for their lack of parking, solar panels, electric vehicle charging points, adequate drainage and trees.

The new proposals, in which a floor in one of the blocks has been removed, has 117 flats plus the addition of three car club parking spaces and more electric vehicle charging.

The mix of 14 one-bedroom, 89 two-bedroom and 14 three-bedroom flats will include a 25 per cent proportion of affordable properties.

Forty-four representations were received opposing the latest plans along with 22 supporting them.
