The Really Local Group has received a £1.2 million funding boost from the Mayor of London’s Good Growth Fund to develop a leisure venue called The Gramophone in Hayes.

The scheme, sited within The Old Vinyl Factory development, will be a new world-class cultural and creative hub for Hayes. It will feature a cinema, live music venue and interactive exhibitions, celebrating its history as a vital part of the global industrial and music trade. There will also be a café /bar.

The Gramophone building will retain sections of the former pressing plant where grooves were stamped onto heated vinyl, producing millions of records that were shipped around the world with the famous words ‘EMI Records, Hayes, Middlesex, England’ on the sleeve.

The Really Local Group creates and restores cultural infrastructure through the regeneration and renewal of the UK’s high streets.
