New aerial views, including video, of Reading’s Green Park Station have been published by the council (see below).

The £20 million station, due to open in the Summer after delays due to lockdowns, will have two car parks, a bus interchange, taxi rank and a drop off point.

Network Rail and GWR will begin the commissioning of the station imminently.

Cllr Tony Page, Reading Borough Council’s lead member for strategic environment, planning and transport, said: “It is fantastic to see the progress on this major development captured in such dramatic aerial footage and I’m delighted to see the progress on the construction of the new Green Park Station so far.

“All being well, we are now close to construction being complete. The station will then be commissioned by Network Rail and GWR before it can open for public use this year.

“When operational, Green Park Station will form an integral part of Reading’s ever-growing sustainable transport infrastructure with more homes, businesses and leisure developments planned in the south of the borough. It will also be another option for football fans heading to the stadium on match days, again taking the pressure off our busy roads.”
