Work on a new industrial park in Basingstoke, totalling 200,000 sq ft, is set to start in Spring or early Summer after St. Modwen was given planning permission.

St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics won consent from Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council to create an 11.3-acre development of three industrial and logistics units within Viables Business Park.

The site, owned by manufacturing business ITT Inc, will be known as St. Modwen Park, Basingstoke. The developer expects the new units to be ready for occupation in the first quarter of 2021.

Units on the scheme, two miles from the town centre and served by J6 and J7 of the M3, will range from 36,000-190,000 sq ft and provide jobs for up to 250 people.

David McGougan, senior development manager at St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics, said: “This is a strategic site on the M3 with excellent access to the strong commercial hub of Basingstoke. Working with ITT Inc and Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council allows us to fulfil the council’s aspiration to intensify employment use and deliver regeneration.

“We look forward to providing high-quality floor space and turning the land into a key employment site.”

Agents for the site are Jim London of London Clancy and Andrew Newman of Hollis Hockley.
