HemingwayDesign has been appointed to masterplan Newbury town centre.
The firm, founded by Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway, which, along with NEW Masterplanning, is behind the redesign of the centre of Andover, has been appointed to the role by West Berkshire Council.
Ian Young, who chairs the property groups at Newbury West Berkshire economic development company (EDC), said: “The EDC welcome the appointment of town centre masterplan consultants Hemingway.
“Their task, particularly community engagement, will not be easy in the midst of pandemic restrictions. However, we are pleased that West Berks Council has asked that we at the EDC, amongst other local groups, be consulted and we look forward to engaging with them.”
Newbury West Berkshire runs a property focus group of 14 members and plans an online forum in January which is open to as many interested parties as possible.
