Star Live has released new details of the 45-day modular construction programme behind Mundo Pixar Experience London, the large-scale immersive exhibition venue delivered for Luna Entertainment Group at Wembley Park.
Delivered for Luna Entertainment Group, the project transformed a constrained, meanwhile site into a venue designed to house one of the world’s largest immersive Pixar exhibitions.
Built around a clear-span steel structure, the venue was engineered to support large-format scenic installations, integrated HVAC systems and high visitor throughput, while meeting the standards expected of a permanent public venue.
The completed building reaches internal heights of 10.9m, allowing the exhibition team to install large-scale immersive environments across the site without intrusive internal supports that would interrupt the visitor experience.
With a fixed launch date in place, the programme required continuous coordination across engineering, fabrication and on-site construction teams, alongside major steel installation and crane operations. The structure was installed in phases to maintain programme speed while allowing parallel workstreams across building systems and fit-out.
The project highlights the increasing use of off-site modular construction within immersive entertainment, particularly for meanwhile urban sites where speed of delivery is critical.
Michael Reid, project director at Star Live, said:
“The biggest challenge was speed. Our team was working to a fixed opening date while delivering a building that needed to operate like a permanent venue once the public arrived. The structure had to accommodate large scenic installations, public circulation and integrated building services, all within a very compressed programme. Fraser Muir, our Project Manager for this scheme, kept close coordination across design, fabrication and site teams, which was critical from the pre-construction stage all the way through to delivery on-site.”
The attraction, which opened to the public in February 2026, features walk-through environments inspired by Pixar films and characters, housed within a purpose-designed modular structure built specifically for the exhibition.
