Atlantic Leaf Properties has let office space at WestPoint in Peterborough to Western Union International Bank GmbH and Jeremy Benn Associates (JBA).

Western Union International Bank has signed a new 10-year lease for 12,249 sq ft of office space on the second floor of the building. Environmental consultant JBA Consulting has signed a new five-year lease for 4,869 sq ft on the first floor of the same building.

These new deals come in the wake of a £4 million refurbishment to Westpoint. The site was upgraded significantly and now features an outdoor lake and terrace, on-site gym facilities and a café. The development has been awarded a platinum ‘cyclingscore.com’ rating and is only a 20-minute cycle from the train station through Ferry Meadows Country Park, which offers rowing, sailing, fishing, golf, and family activities.

The site is also home to Bauer Media, one of the world’s largest privately-owned media businesses. It was previously occupied by Thomas Cook before the travel company’s collapse in September 2019.

The refurbishment was conducted by fit-out and refurbishment specialist Overbury. Atlantic Leaf Properties were advised by Savills and DTRE throughout the process. Suites remain available to let, starting from 4,714 sq ft. The quoting rent is £19.50 per sq ft.

Edward Gee, associate director in the business space team at Savills Peterborough, comments: “Up until now there has been very little availability across the city when it comes to prime office stock so we have received a high level of interest to date.”

Rupert Langdon, investment manager at Atlantic Leaf, adds: “We have found interest from occupiers has actually been accelerated by Covid-19 as people seek affordable Cambridgeshire countryside living only 49 minutes by train to London, whilst businesses are considering longer term strategic ‘hub and spoke’ office models.”
