The revised planning application for homes at Reading Golf Club’s Emmer Green course has attracted more objections than the previous one.

The first application for 260 homes on the section of the club that falls within the Reading borough attracted more than 2,000 objections before the club withdrew it and brought forward a revised scheme.

Now the revised scheme for 257 homes has attracted more than 3,000 objections, the highest number an application has attracted in Reading. There were 200 letters of support.

The Keep Emmer Green campaign has raised close to £5,000 in its effort to fight the scheme and says it will continue its opposition if the application goes to appeal.

The planning applications committee is likely to consider the plans in either April or May.
