Councillors have approved outline plans for eight small industrial units on the site of a former stone quarry near Banbury.
Cherwell District Council’s planning committee unanimously approved plans by FINSCO Property Company to develop the Hornton Quarry Ground at its September 4 meeting.
The 1.48-hectare site is around three miles north west of Banbury town centre, between Shenington and Alkerton.
Eight units, each of just 196.5 sq m, designed as starter accommodation for small firms, will have a combined floor area of 1,572 sq m, arranged around a 36-space car park. The existing access onto Stratford Road will be retained.
Use classes of the units include E(g)(iii) light industrial and B2 general industrial.
The scheme will require demolition of several industrial buildings on the site.
The team on the project includes Hammond Town Planning, Illustrate Architects, DTA on transport planning, Ecology Solutions on landscaping and Harban Redwood on flood risk.
