Specialist retail letting agent GCW has been appointed alongside Lunson Mitchenall to market space in AEW’s Windsor Royal Station scheme.
AEW’s Urban Real Estate Fund (UREF) acquired the 74,000 sq ft centre at Windsor & Eton Central Station, last month for £18.5million.
GCW advised during the transaction and devised a retail and leisure leasing strategy for the project.
The appointment follows UREF’s May 2021 acquisition of 260,000 sq ft Windsor Yards shopping centre, next door, which GCW has worked on for more than 20 years.
The historic Grade II Windsor Royal Station building dates from 1849 and currently has more than 40 shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, including high street retailers Hobbs, Whistles, Phase Eight, Jigsaw, Space NK and Sweaty Betty.
The leisure operators include Bills, Café Rouge, Cattle Grid and All Bar One.
Nick Warr, partner for GCW, said: “Given Windsor’s enviable status as a major tourist destination, together with one of the most affluent catchments in the country, we have a unique opportunity to continue to deliver a strong retail and leisure offering for visitors, with the proposed transformation of the town centre, which will cement Windsor as a premier destination.”
