On Wednesday 15 April, at a Cabinet meeting, Oxford City Council resolved to “make” the Littlemore Neighbourhood Plan, following its approval at a January referendum.
This decision will formalise the plan as a statutory development, allowing future planning applications to be processed officially.
The Council also recommended delegating authority to the director of planning and regulation, in consultation with the cabinet member for planning and culture, in order to allow them to finalise the Plan prior to final publication.
Plan details
The Plan itself covers the parish of Littlemore, and intends to fix issues such as the parishes geographical fragmentation and poor connectivity, alongside adjusting it to be compatible with surrounding developments, such as the potential 3000 home development south of Grenoble Road, and the reopening of the Cowley Branch Line.
Other key aims of the project include achieving a balance of available housing, and supporting the continuing development of local businesses.
