The Bury St Edmunds office of Barker Storey Matthews – now part of Eddisons – has acted on behalf of the vendor in the sale of 83,884 sq ft of industrial warehouse and office space in Thetford, Norfolk to Advanced Air UK Ltd, a leading manufacturer of air distribution and fire safety systems.

The premises at Stephenson House on Stephenson Way, Thetford are set on a 2.85 acre site which has been acquired by Advanced Air UK Ltd.

This site will be used as additional manufacturing, assembly and warehouse space, as well as supplementary offices, staff areas and parking along with their principle site also in the town of Norfolk.

The strategic acquisition of Stephenson House comes at a time of significant expansion for Advanced Air UK Ltd and is one of several investments the company has made in recent months including on new equipment and personnel.

Andrew Sargent, general manager of Advanced Air UK Ltd, said: “The acquisition of Stephenson House gives us the opportunity to bring more jobs to the area and allows us to further expand our product innovation, testing and manufacturing capabilities to meet the growing demands of the air distribution and fire safety industries.”

Simon Burton, director, Barker Storey Matthews, said: “Investors and occupiers have a very positive view of Thetford’s industrial property offering.

“Stephenson House offered a rare opportunity to acquire freehold industrial premises with good transport connectivity and was ideally situated for the expansion of an important local employer.”

Mr Burton continued: “We’re delighted to have acted for our client in the sale of the premises to such a high profile local company whose business is going from strength to strength.”
