Cala Homes expects to start work in Spring on the next 179 homes at Nobel Park in Didcot.

South Oxfordshire District Council has approved the sixth phase of the development which will bring the total Cala and sister brand Legal & General Homes have won consent for to 634.

The new phase will be a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom homes. A total 41 will be affordable.

Of the previously consented 455, 46 per cent have been sold.

Charles Rafferty, land director at Cala Cotswolds, said: “We are thrilled to announce the approval of our latest phase, consisting of 179 new homes, marking an exciting addition to the development of our Nobel Park community. These homes will be complemented by open green spaces and play areas which are already enjoyed by our existing residents.

“Our dedication goes beyond constructing homes; it extends to fostering a thriving and interconnected neighbourhood and we look forward to our continued work with the local community through our Community Pledge initiative.

“Our commitment to environmental sustainability is reflected in our urban wildlife strategy. Each of our homes incorporate vital measures to support wildlife, including bird nesting features, specialist hedgehog fencing, bat boxes or bat roosting tiles, and native tree planting.

“Looking ahead, we will be bolstering our commitment by bringing forward plans for our next phase very shortly.”
