Three of the four planning issues we reported on last week, which went before councillors on September 8, were approved.

Swindon Borough Council’s cabinet agreed to a plan to close and sell Apsley House, home of Swindon Museum & Art Gallery, despite a packed public area which included protestors wanting it re-opened.

Vale of White Horse District Council’s planning committee voted to defer a plan by Catesby Land Promotions for 90 homes at Marcham.

Reasons included foul water flooding issues, primary school capacity, air quality and road, pedestrian and cycling concerns. There will also now be a site visit.

And Wokingham Borough Council’s planning committee voted in favour of a plan for a new special needs school at Winnersh and for a plan for a major new solar farm at Barkham.
